An introduction to the experience of dementia. This week Tara our trainer has begun rolling out our new Dementia Training! Our newly Registered Manager Carey has worked with Tara to make our training more interactive and to give our staff the opportunity to experience how people with dementia may experience life. Using eye goggles to change vision, gloves to experience touch differently, headphones to adjust hearing and insoles for our staff’s shoes, so they experience how mobility can be affected have really given our staff a rude awakening.
We feel this new training really does give our staff a real insight and we believe our staff will take this experience into the field and understand how we communicate better with our customers who are living with this diagnosis.
