Stop! Think Fraud – Home Office Campaign

VHH - Take 5 to stop fraud

The U.K. Home Office has launched a new campaign, Stop! Think Fraud to help clamp down on the alarming amount of fraud committed in the country. The campaign offers loads of useful advice on how to spot and avoid fraud.  Loads of useful information can be found at:  https://stopthinkfraud.campaign.gov.uk/

1 in 17 people were victims of fraud in the UK last year. Fraud costs the taxpayer an estimated £6.8 billion per year.  The impact of fraud can be heartbreaking, as criminals do not just steal your money but steal your sense of security.  Stop! Think Fraud, is the Home Office campaign to help you spot fraud and how to protect yourself and seek help if you need it.

The campaign is being supported locally by Kent Police and they are urging that if you think that you may have been a victim of this or any other type of scam, then contact your Bank immediately, which you can do by calling 159 and report it to Action Fraud at www.actionfraud.police.uk or call 0300 123 2040.
