This week keeps getting better and better. Not only have Ellen and Nanna got through to the Semi-Finals of Home Care’s Got Talent, which take place on Monday 15th July at The Reubens, Palace Hotel in London, but we have also heard that 3 of our amazing staff have been shortlisted for The Kent Care Awards!!
Aysen Hulusi Black is shortlisted in the category of: Ancillary Award – Back office support staff.
Aysen is a brilliant Coordinator! We are all aware that rostering within Domiciliary can be a logistical nightmare. Balancing staff with their annual leave, and sickness alongside customer requirements, times, and then not forgetting travel times and bad weather can send the average Care Co ordinator into a frenzy! It’s just as well that Aysen doesn’t become disheartened and just gets on with it! Aysen is very able to utilise her knowledge of the staff team as well as the customers effectively and efficiently. She can motivate the team to work well together but always puts the customer at the heart of our service. Continuity of Care is key and Aysen works diligently to achieve this, not forgetting to be cost effective for the company. Aysen has taken the time to get to know each staff member so she can offer carers to customers to meet their individual needs and match up staff who share common interests with customers. Aysen keeps up to date with all systems within our offices and also takes responsibility for keeping our office based staff up to date with new technology. During winter months, Aysen takes into consideration staff lone working in darkness hours, ensuring safety as a priority, as well as managing customer requirements. Aysen is often seen as “the brain” of our office, with all office staff rotating around her work on our roster. Its a busy and demanding role, one which Aysen excels at on a daily basis.
Wendy Rivett is shortlisted in the category of: Community Care Registered Manager
Wendy has worked with Vitality Home Health for 3 years. She has demonstrated over this time a high level of expertise together with exceptional skills in managing our Home Care business. Wendy has vision in developing our business and ensuring person centred care and supporting staff to meet our customers needs to a very high standard. Wendy leads well and is very able to adapt her ways of working to meet any new direction from regulators. Wendy can demonstrate her commitment to good practice, dignity and privacy to our customers. Wendy feels that involving customers and their families is the way forward in the development of Vitality Home Health. Wendy can nurture the staff that require nurturing and those staff that require a more diplomatic approach. Wendy leads well through her systems of supervision and continuing professional development for the staff, encouraging staff on their career pathway through additional qualification support and guidance. Wendy strives to attend external conferences and webinars to ensure she keeps up to date with the latest information to enable her to ensure a quality service is provided to all customers and the right level of support is given to the staff team. Wendy has built a wonderful team to assist her within the office to ensure that our customers receive outstanding care. She guides them, she supports them and above all she leads them to provide the very best care possible.
Carey Laughland who is shortlisted in the category of: Dementia Champion
Carey joined the Care Industry as a result of a personal experience with a family member who lived with dementia. She threw herself into our world and found her vocation! Carey worked her way from Care Assistant to attaining a Masters in Dementia at the University of Hull. Carey is very keen that anyone living with dementia does just that LIVE. Carey works closely with our customers who have dementia as well as our staff, sharing her knowledge and completing Bradford Mapping and The Pool Activity Tool to help develop holistic and stimulating packages of care for this customer group. Carey works diligently, with kindness and consideration. She has developed our Dementia Cafe as well as a drop in for family and friends within our offices to share her knowledge to those people who live alongside people with dementia to assist them to grasp positive ways of supporting their loved ones. She is also redesigning our training model to ensure our staff are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to enable them to support our customers.
We are absolutely thrilled for these three outstanding Team Members and we are so looking forward to the Gala Dinner on Friday 13th September 2024, where the final results will be shared!
We are sending all three ladies the very best of luck, you are all winners in our eyes!!
